create your own community: be a "schol haller"

our 12 scholarship halls create close-knit communities of students. about 50 students live in each schol hall, and they cook and clean their hall in exchange for a reduced housing rate.

this lower rate is considered a form of scholarship, but students don't have to receive a scholarship to live in one of the schol halls. they do, however, have to maintain a 2.5 gpa and take at least 28 credit hours a year.

scholarship halls have their own personalities and one-of-a-kind traditions and events like the amini weenie roast and the annual international dinner.

ku's campus and the city of lawrence are bicycle-friendly. during class hours, campus is closed to general traffic except for ku buses and bicycles. plan your route for riding to class with our campus map.

cars

ku's parking & transit department issues and enforces all on-campus parking rules, regulations and permits for cars, motorcycles and mopeds. because the campus is pedestrian-friendly, it is not necessary to have a car or other vehicle at ku.
